Pane Nostrum in Senigallia: Italy’s National Leavened Goods Fair. Pane Nostrum sounds like Cosa Nostra, meaning “our thing”, and it’s about our dealings, our business. Are our dealings our bread? Is bread the business of the mafia? Something’s definitely off here. Let’s figure this out. September marks the start of countless sagre and fiere across Italy. One of my favorites here in Le Marche is Pane Nostrum, held in Senigallia. Il pane means bread in Italian. Nostrum comes from Latin, something like “our”, you know, like Cosa Nostra.
